Limbert 238 Tabourette

In 2001 my Arts and Crafts studio began making these from drawings of a rare original that was made by Charles P. Limbert in Grand Rapids around 1900.  My intent at the time was that I wanted to couple my fondness of woodworking with my interest in re-kindling Michigan’s great tradition of furniture.   I honestly had no idea that the business of making them would actually grow.  My thoughts at the time were that I would try to share my fascination with the world, but in reality, I thought that I would never make any real money at it. At the very least would end up with a couple cool tables for my living room, which I had wanted for some time. The table in the picture above has  a top that is 16.5 inches in diameter that is 7/8" thick, and 26 inches tall (the true original Limbert Co. only offered them in a 26" height).  We do make other versions that are shorter and taller, and some with thicker tops, which you can see by clicking on the picture. We also offer a version with a 24" diameter top.
